When WA’s borders do eventually open (or if COVID takes a hold in WA prior to this), there are various safety processes that will need to be implemented at the Dunsborough and Wembley clinics.
Please do not attend the clinic if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing or blocked runny/nose, have been a known close contact of a COVID positive person, or have been at a known exposure site. Providing the clinic with as much notice as possible will assist others waiting for an appointment - however minimal notice is perfectly fine if you become unwell close to your appointment time.
Mask requirements - because Osteopathic treatments last more than 15 minutes and are closer than 1.5 meters distance, the Federal Health Dept classifies this as a high risk of COVID transmission. In order to reduce transmission risk classification from high to low (ie not a close contact), the following changes are recommended. Following these recommendations may reduce the chances of the clinic being automatically closed by WA Health each time a close contact of a COVID positive person attends. (a) An Osteopath will wear a N95 mask and safety glasses at all times. (b) Vaccinated patients are to wear a N95/P2 mask, surgical mask, or cloth mask (if it has extra filter layers incorporated). (c)It will be mandatory for any unvaccinated patient to wear a N95/P2 mask during their treatment. Australian made P2 (European assessed N95 (US) equivalent) face masks can be purchased online at www.ppetech.com.au. If you haven’t been able to source a N95/P2 mask at your time of treatment, then one will be supplied to you for $7 along with a paper bag so you can store in your glove box for your next visit (the mask will be usable for 5-6 such visits).
At the Wembley clinic, SafeWA check-in will be available upstairs just before you enter the treatment room itself, plus a hand written check-in inside if you forget your phone. At the Dunsborough clinic it will be at the front door. Sanitiser will be made available.
The clinic will be a linen free zone, except for towels supplied by myself for treatment purposes.
All touched surfaces in the treatment room will be sanitised between each treatment, and as usual thorough hand washing will happen between treatments.
If you have been out and about (and potentially exposed to COVID), and a clean set of clothes is possible - then that would be greatly appreciated (but not mandatory).
You may prefer to wait in your car (instead of the waiting room) - if this is the case, then sent a text message when you arrive, and I will reply when the treatment room is free - you can then walk straight in.
With all these processes in place, I hope that we can keep our families safe and healthy, and also minimise the inconvenience of having your Osteopathic appointment cancelled by WA Health (and needing to wait 6-9 weeks for another - particularly in Wembley).
